Maryland’s MBE Program was reauthorized during the 2012 Legislative Session.  As part of the reauthorization, the Program’s overall goal was moved from State statute to regulation and is required to be set every two years by the Special Secretary of Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs (GOMA) in consultation with the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation and the Attorney General’s Office.  According to statute, in establishing overall goals, GOMA’s Special Secretary must provide an opportunity for consultation with MBE program stakeholders.  As such, GOMA is providing all MBE Program Stakeholders two ways to provide information.  MBE Program Stakeholders can complete a Survey and return it to GOMA, by mail or email (MBEgoal@mdminoritybusiness.com), and/or attend one of the meetings hosted by GOMA on Thursday, July 12th.  The meeting invitation and survey can be accessed from GOMA’s website (http://www.mdminoritybusiness.com/) or by clicking here.
